COMMERCIAL AND MILITARY EXPERIENCE

EODEX and Alford Technologies have a strong and stable management team who have a wealth of experience in their respective fields. EODEX TEAM

SIMON MORGAN - CEO

A successful businessman in his own right, Simon has extensive experience at board level and has enjoyed considerable success in developing companies to compete as market leaders in a variety of industry sectors. His involvement and leadership in the finance, aviation and maritime arenas has given him a broad range of experience at the highest level in delivering excellence. His vision for EODEX and building a global brand is characteristically ambitious and chimes with his strong ethical beliefs on the preservation of the marine environment.

SIMON WELLING - MANAGING DIRECTOR

Simon joined EODEX in February 2022 as a Non Executive Director and as of April 2023 sits as the Managing Director of the company.

BERNIE MORRISON FRICS FEI - CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER

Bernie came to EODEX in November 2019 having spent most of his 44 year career working in Oil & Gas and latterly in Offshore Renewables, particularly in the subsea arena with such companies as VODL, Brovig, Halliburton, Fugro, Siemens and PanGeo Subsea. Bernie has spent most of his career in the contracting side of the business and held senior Business Development and Management roles in the above companies and on a global basis. Bernie is currently the Chief Commercial Officer within EODEX, a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the Energy Institute.

ANDREW ELVIN OBE - PRESIDENT EODEX US

Andrew Elvin OBE joins EODEX US as President, bringing a unique level of knowledge from 35 years as a Royal Navy Warfare Officer. With 30 years specialist experience in deep mine warfare, diving and explosive ordnance disposal, Andrew served a third of his career alongside, and embedded with various US Navy Commands. His final tour was as the Deputy US Mine Warfare Commander in Bahrain and Captain UK Mine Warfare. Dealing with all forms of military ordnance during conflict including ERW, MEC and UXOs, he has amassed a wealth of experience, operating with multi-national commercial, military and industrial organizations, from the Americas through Europe to the Middle and Far East.

Now a US citizen, he has lived with his family in Rhode Island for 8 years and enjoys light engineering and destructive gardening. Andrew is a keen sailor and a diving volunteer at the Rhode Island Marine Archaeology Project.

KIM GODFREY - DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DELIVERY

Kim has been a senior consultant in the energy sectors and offshore survey industries for over 15 years providing expertise in HSE, particularly in contingency planning, crisis and incident management and Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) mitigation management.

Prior to that, he spent over 23 years as a Royal Navy Mine Clearance Diving Officer, planning, directing and participating in mine and bomb disposal operations both onshore and offshore worldwide. With a pioneering degree in Environmental Sciences, Kim is eager to combine his academic qualifications with his extensive first-hand & practical UXO and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technical, safety, environmental and commercial knowledge with the world leader in the environmentally safe disposal of marine UXO.

STEVEN FITZJOHN MSc, CMIOSH, MCGI, MIExpE - DIRECTOR EOD OPERATIONS SUPPORT AND HSEQ DELIVERY

A professionally recognised Senior Executive with an accomplished 41-years’ experience working in operational roles within the Maritime Defence and Commercial industry sectors. An innovative problem solver, and goal-oriented leader with experience in a wide range of demanding, complex, technical, and high-risk operations management within several organisations. Extensive senior level experience as an advanced operator in Unexploded Ordnance (UXO), risk management, project planning, and project Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality (HSEQ) delivery. Steven holds an MSc degree level qualification in Leadership and Management, and professional recognition as a Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner with the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health and a Member of the Institute of Explosive Engineers.

DOUGLAS GRAY - SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER/ OPERATIONS MANAGER

Doug Gray joins EODEX as Senior Project Manager and Operations Manager, bringing a unique blend of project management and operations management experience gained through consultant roles within the Offshore Renewables, Oil & Gas and Cables industries.

He has very broad knowledge and understanding of subsea engineering projects at pre-construction (FEED), installation, development, and decommissioning phases.

Doug has been a senior consultant in the offshore survey sector for over 10 years providing expertise in the management of offshore geophysical, hydrographic, environmental and geotechnical survey projects and operations, for various applications including UXO mitigation.

LORRAINE LEDINGHAM - PROJECT PLANNER/ANALYST

Lorraine joined EODEX in June 2023 as Project Planner/Analyst, with a strong background in both operations and project management. Lorraine has worked in Aberdeen for 25+ years in the Oil and Gas industry and also gained a good understanding of the planning process when working for 18 months in Perth, Australia. In most recent years Lorraine has been working within the inspection industry with roles predominately in coordination and management whilst also gaining an APM/PMQ qualification.

STEVE VERNON MCGI MIEXPE - EOD SUPERINTENDENT

Steve joined EODEX in late 2018 shortly after its inception and has seen the company grow into a well-established specialist EOD and explosives engineering organisation. As an operator Steve has spent his entire career mitigating the risk posed by unexploded ordnance from Air Dropped Weapons to the more complicated Improvised Devices. Steve spent 33 years in the Royal Navy as a Minewarfare and Clearance Diving specialist. He left the service in 2017 and transferred his skill set to the commercial environment. With UK and global experience in renewables and construction, Steve is a member of the Institute of Explosive Engineers and leads the Operations department within EODEX.

DAVID (BURT) LANCASTER - MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Burt joined EODEX in 2022 having served in the Royal Navy from 1987 for 28 years. He served on many vessels ranging from fishery protection, type 42 Destroyers and steam powered Royal Marine carriers to HMS Endurance where he was a Rib coxswain & also helped the survey department and BAS by diving around & under the ice packs in Antarctica.

He became a full time diver in 1998 & after several years helping to teach new diver recruits & 2 draft at sea on Hunt class mine sweepers he then moved onto the Fleet Diving Squadron & served for 6 years with FDU-1. He then helped regenerate the underwater force protection unit which maintained and distributed diving equipment to ships in the UK and worldwide.

JENNY MORRISON - BUSINESS & MARKETING MANAGER

Jenny joined EODEX in August 2021. Jenny started her professional career in Oil & Gas with such companies as Fugro, Total and Petrofac before starting her own retail business in St Andrews that allowed her to benefit from her honours degree in Textile Design from Heriot-Watt University. However, the call of her hometown, family and the Offshore Renewables Industry proved too strong and she returned to Aberdeen working again for Total and latterly PanGeo Subsea.

RICHARD YULE - COMMERCIAL MANAGER

Quantity Surveying and legally trained with over 35 years of experience; Richard started his working life in construction-related private practice, before moving to a construction-related specialist sub-contractor and manufacturer. A change of career followed as a Project Manager/ Commercial Project Manager in the Oil & Gas industry with Siemens Subsea and after a spell as a self-employed consultant, he has moved back into the Energy sector and is based in our Aberdeen office.

JENNIFER EDGLEY - TENDERING MANAGER

Jen joined EODEX in June 2023 coming with experience in tendering / communications and marketing, with a degree in Corporate Communications which focused on business management and communications. Working within the oil and gas sector for over 12 years in the tendering / commercial capacity and predominantly within the Subsea ROV sector, working for companies such as Fugro, Subsea 7 and Boskalis.

LEE WASLING MIEXPE - BUSINESS & PROJECT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

After 15 years Royal Navy service encompassing operations and risk management, Lees’ extensive experience in the commercial maritime sector spans over a decade. With professional roles including Offshore Project Manager, Client Representative and Head of Marine Operations, Lee has developed a successful track record in commercial bid wins and delivery of high value projects for major international clients. Lee sits on the EODEX management board, managing the company’s growth and its entry into new markets and is a member of the Institute of Explosives Engineers (IExpE UK).

GRACE SANDERSON - MARKETING & MEDIA EXECUTIVE

Grace joined EODEX in January 2022 as a digital marketing student undertaking a 12-week professional practise placement. After successfully completing her placement, she was taken on as a part-time Marketing and Media Executive in the Aberdeen office, while continuing her studies at Robert Gordon University. Grace enjoys being creative and would love to work within digital marketing when she finishes her studies at university.

ELLIE MORRIS - BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR

Ellie joined EODEX in November 2022 as the Business Administrator, based in the Aberdeen Office. Ellie came from a customer focussed role which she worked in for 4 years whilst completing her higher education and her HNC in Business Management. Ellie can’t wait to use her skill set in her new role within the company.
